Me and Lee by Judyth Vary Baker about the intimate relationship with the man in the summer of 1963. Both have abundant documentation.

Douglass's book is great but while there were a whole host of people who wanted JFK dead in DC, like the Joint Chief's at the Pentagon, other parties also had a vested interest, including anti-Castro Cubans, the Mob, Jewish and Sicilian, and finally, Israel since JFK was trying to nip their burgeoning nuclear program in the bud as well as make the precursor of AIPAC register as a foreign lobby.
